Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
The Mt. Judea Area Alliance began a chapter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in 2012. We currently have 47 children under the age of 5 receiving 1 book per month at their home address. If you have a child between the age of 0-5 years living in Mt. Judea Fire Department Service Area, click on the button below to get more information and a sign-up sheet.
Studies have shown that reading to your child at an early age helps the child start school with important early literacy skills. They are prepared to learn to read and write. Children who have not had many experiences listening to books read aloud or talking about books typically start school with poor early literacy skills. These children often fall behind early in reading and writing and stay behind.
